Beer style defined: Pale Ale

Pale Ale – IPA’s little brother. With very reminiscent notes of an IPA, a pale ale, or American Pale Ale (APA), is usually hoppy in nature, but not nearly as “in your face” as some IPAs. Think of these as an “IPA Light.” Pale Ales are GREAT in the summer time, as they are really crisp and refreshing. Many pale ales have notes of pine, citrus, and of course, hops.

Good – Rhinegeist Crash, Maine Peeper
Better – Seventh Son Humulus Nimbus, Fatheads Trail Head Pale Ale
Best – Toppling Goliath Pseudo Sue, Lagunitas Born Yesterday, 3 Floyds Zombie Dust
